Yosemite in the smoke

A strange and memorable trip.

We visited Yosemite in September 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, while wildfires were ripping through Northern California and Oregon.

We nearly had the park to ourselves. Lottery entry, and smoke had a lot of people canceling. Empty lots. Trails to ourselves.

This was the first day, before the smoke really rolled in. We had plans for Half Dome. With the air like that, we kept the hikes short.
