Oregon, I was not expecting this

I came to Oregon imagining thick forests and greenery. Smith Rock threw us for a loop — and I liked it.

It has a near-desert feel, except for the river. Sand on the paths, jagged rock all around, climbers and hikers mixed together, and views of the surrounding mountains.

Thank you Kelcie for putting this park on our radar. We loved it.
