Our first backpacking trip

First backpacking trip was one for the books.

Baker Lake was the perfect beginner trip. Nine miles was enough to test the packs, agree that neither of us likes sharing a hammock, remember you can never have too many socks, and learn that “toilet” does not mean the same thing to everyone.

Great starter trip. The goal after this was the 40+ mile Timberline Trail around Mount Hood before the snow came back.
